- The McGurran Bee Farm produces three core products: Natural, non-processed honey; Crème honey, both flavored and plain; and comb honey. My Crème and flavored honeys fill a niche that is fairly unique. Few beekeepers make flavored honey.
• NATURAL (Non-Processed) honey, which has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow. Because I do not heat it, it still contains live yeast and enzymes. In addition, I merely screen the honey and, because it is not filtered, the pollen is still in the honey.
• Crème honey, which is known also as “Creamed”, honey. Crème honey is actually finely crystallized honey that appears to be like a thick cream or also known as the “honey butter”. A good crème honey should be smooth, not grainy, like velvet on the tongue.
• I have also created different flavors of Crème honey. The flavors that I produce only have organic or natural flavors blended into the honey. For example, the chocolate honey I produce is made with organic cocoa beans. My maple honey is made with Vermont maple syrup. The fruit flavors in my honey are made with freeze dried berries that come in the form of a powder. The orange, lemon, almond, and hazelnut flavors are made with organic oils and extracts. There are no additives or preservatives in any of these products.
• Comb honey is the most natural honey you get. The comb honey is cut right off the wooden frames. Comb honey is taken directly from the hive just as the bees made it and is only available in the fall.
